The circuit tour combines Skyrail, Kuranda, the scenic Cairns Highlands which are situated between 500 and 900 m above sea level and the Mamu Canopy Walk.

Around 3 million to 10,000 years ago the Cairns Highland was in a state of volcanic upheaval. Numerous volcanoes erupted and created the mineral-rich soils. The lava flows filled land depressions and resulted in the flat to undulating land surface.

Lookout

When the first Europeans arrived in the 1880s they began clearing the rainforests and transformed the area into the present mosaic of rural landscapes and dense rainforests. Conical hills and crater lakes are the witnesses to its volcanic history.

Skyrail

Skyrail

We begin our day on Skyrail, the exciting 7.5 km gondola cable way over the rainforest to Kuranda.

Our guests travel just above the tree tops level in 6 person cabins. The views over the rainforest canopy and the coast are spectacular.

This way we can experience the rainforest from a unique and unusual perspective.

Kuranda

Kuranda

Arriving in Kuranda we visit the picturesque mountain village surrounded by rainforest.

Yungaburra

One of the main attractions are the markets where visitors can buy local handicrafts, Aboriginal art and general Australian products.

Yungaburra

Lunch is served at Nick's Swiss Restaurant in the historic town of Yungaburra.

Curtain

Curtain Fig Tree

Another stop is at the famous Curtain Fig Tree, the biggest strangler fig in Australia.

The area is very rich in birdlife and many calls can be heard in the vicinity.

Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway

Experience one of Australia's grandest man-made structures in a natural environment.

Walkway

With its combination of a canopy walk high in the tree tops, an observation tower, viewing decks and cantilevers, it brings you close to new unexplored spheres of the rainforest.

Take in the exhilarating vistas of the Johnstone River gorge and amazing surrounding World Heritage landscapes.

Josephine Falls

Josephine Falls is a secluded freshwater swimming hole, located at the foot of Queensland's tallest mountain, Mt. Bartle Frere (1622m).

Josephine

A series of waterfalls flow into large pools surrounded by boulders. Rainforest trees hang over the water, keeping it cool and refreshing.

We take a short walk to a series of dramatic cascading waterfalls amidst the lush tropical rainforest. Take the plunge in the exciting natural rockslide (life vests are provided for children).
