Day 1

Buttress

Murray Falls Rainforest Walk

This walk follows Murray Creek. The boulder strewn track is dominated by massive trees with buttress roots.

Ascending out of the rainforest we reach a section of open woodlands and wind our way to the top of the falls.

Murray

Some magnificent views down the waterfall and across to the ranges beyond reward us for our efforts. Our guide explains about the local Aboriginal history of the Girramay people and their former lifestyle in the rainforest.

Murray Falls Boardwalk

We stroll on a scenic boardwalk along the creek to two platforms to view the falls and the granite rock face and boulders close by.

The creek's shores are lined by huge eucalyptus and paper bark trees. This is a great opportunity for a swim in the clear rock pools with the picturesque waterfalls in the background.

We have a picnic lunch at the edge of Murray Creek.

Edmund

Edmund Kennedy Circuit

The circuit walk begins by the beach on Rockingham Bay and winds its way through a variety of coastal habitats including mangrove swamps, paper bark swamps and open eucalypt woodlands.

You may see crocodiles and fish lurking in the estuarine creeks. The park is remarkable for its many bird species.

Wreck

Wreck Creek

The superb beach walk with beautiful views of the sea leads us through shady pandanus and eucalypt forest to Wreck Creek.

Wreck

At the mouth of the creek a mangrove forest begins to run parallel to the banks of the tidal creek systems.

We search for the mudskipper, an unusual fish that can use its pectoral fins to climb tree roots and move across the soil.

We stay overnight at Port Hinchinbrook Resort.

Boat

Branded 'The Boathouses', the individual cabins overlook a magnificent 300 berth marina, the Hinchinbrook Channel and spectacular Hinchinbrook Island.

Each luxurious and spacious cabin has its own veranda and is on a par with any five star resort in North Queensland.

Day 2

Hinchinbrook

In the morning breakfast is served at the Portside Restaurant watching the boats dock and depart.

Hinchinbrook Island

Explore Australia's largest and most splendid island national park.

Ramsay

Missionary Bay

Your cruise will take you across sea grass bed sanctuaries and into the dense mangrove everglades of Missionary Bay. We search for dugong, turtles, crocodiles and dolphins in the moss-green mangrove forests fringing the inland side of the island.

Hinchinbrook

Ramsey Bay

Walk over sand dunes to a 9km long deserted magnificent beach set against a backdrop of rugged granite mountains and lapped by the crystal clear blue waters of the Coral Sea.

Palm

You have an opportunity to swim.

Macushla Bay to Hinchinbrook Island Resort

This bushwalk is the highlight of the day. It leads us through lowland rainforest, along another secluded beach and through spectacular palm forest and boulder formations to the Island Lodge, where our cruise boat picks us up to return to the mainland.

Overnight at Port Hinchinbrook Resort.

Day 3

Crocodile

Breakfast is served at the Portside Restaurant.

Johnstone River Crocodile Farm

Cuddle a crocodile or a python for your souvenir photo. Join the amazing crocodile feeding show and take close-up photos of these ancient creatures.

Hand feed kangaroos and emus, and meet the endangered Cassowary.

Roscoes

Roscoe's Restaurant

Enjoy the finest tour lunch in North Queensland, an Italian-Australian buffet with a great variety of exquisite dishes.

Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway

Tower

Experience one of Australia's grandest man-made structures in a natural environment.

With its combination of a canopy walk high in the tree tops, an observation tower, viewing decks and cantilever, it brings you close to new unexplored spheres of the rainforest.

Mantis

Take in the exhilarating vistas of the Johnstone River gorge and amazing surrounding World Heritage landscapes.

Josephine Falls

Josephine Falls is a secluded freshwater swimming hole, hidden in the tropical rainforest.

Josephine

A series of waterfalls flow into large pools surrounded by boulders. Rainforest trees hang over the water, keeping it cool and refreshing.

We take a short walk to a series of dramatic cascading waterfalls amidst the lush tropical rainforest. Take the plunge in the exciting natural rockslide (life vests are provided for children).
